  VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - AUDIOTAPE TRANSCRIBER

Type/Age: Individuals / 21 years or older.
Description: Audio Transcribers verbally record textbooks and other forms of printed materials using specially designed 4-track tape players and Library of Congress Guidelines.
Requirements: Precise enunciation and clear diction. Ability and willingness to read aloud and learn the specific guidelines for audio taping. Good reference skills, willingness to read many diverse types of print materials.
Location: At home.
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours per week. This is an on-going and long-term commitment.
Training: Audition tape required, three at-home training sessions and one VSVH office session.
Benefits: Site is also on major bus lines and is handicapped accessible.
